Belagavi accident, announcement of compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the family of the deceased
Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said that six people were killed in a terrible road accident in Belgaum district and the government will pay Rs 5 lakh compensation to each of the families of the deceased and the cost of treatment of the injured.
A Bolero vehicle lost control at a turn and hit a banyan tree on the side of the road near Chunchanur village of Ramadurga taluk. 6 people died as a result.
Hanumavva(25), Deepa(31), Savita(17), Supritha(11), Maruthi(42), Indiravva(24) are the deceased. All of them were going to Savadatti Yallamma temple from Hulakunda village when the accident took place. 23 people were traveling in the pick up bolero vehicle that had an accident. Five of them died on the spot and one died on the way to the hospital.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the family members and has instructed the District Collectors to work on providing compensation immediately.
